Pledge and Commitment Mark Application 

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Carer Friendly organisation. This form enables your business, charity, or organisation to register your support for unpaid Carers. Some questions will open additional information boxes, giving you the opportunity to share more details where needed. 

All organisations must complete Section one.

Our Employers Commitment Mark recognises organisations that support staff who also care for a family member or friend who couldn’t manage without their help. 

To apply, simply commit to and evidence the criteria listed below and submit this form. We’ll then arrange a short video call to discuss your application, even if you’re still working towards meeting all the criteria. 

Each year, you’ll be asked to review and update a prefilled form to celebrate your progress and highlight any extra support you may need. 
As a thank you for your application, you’ll receive our Carer Friendly Workplace Toolkit – completely FREE in your confirmation email. 
To become a committed Carer Friendly Employer, you must complete both of the following:
1. Attend our Workplace Training session for key staff and managers.
2. Have at least one designated Carer Champion in place.

Using our RISE model of supporting working Carers, give examples of how you are implanting these four aspects. These can be uploaded in an A4 Document.  

Raise positive awareness of Carers across your workplace

Increase identification of Carers in your organisation 
What is the process for Carers to inform you, that they are Carers? Give one or more examples of how you are reaching and recording the Carers within your workforce? 

Signpost Carers to Support within your organisation and the community 
What support is available for Carers within your organisation and how is it made visible so that all staff are aware of your offer? How do you support Carers to know what's available to support them in their communities?  

Empower Carers to make positive changes 
How are Carers involved and consulted about your workplace offer and any policy changes that may affect them? How do you ensure line managers are aware of Carers Rights at work and are consistent in proactively encouraging Carers to take up the support available to them, should they wish to?    


Self-Assessment: Supporting Carers in the Workplace
